How may you apply to Teknopark İzmir?

Teknopark İzmir Administrator Company carries out a preliminary meeting and gets information on projects before accepting applications of companies and entrepreneurs which would like to take part in the region.  During these meetings, matters to be taken into consideration for applications are mentioned and then, company or entrepreneur submits its Teknopark İzmir Application Form along with all details demanded enclosed to Teknopark İzmir’s administration. 

Are applications to Teknopark İzmir paid?

An application fee amounting to TRY 1200 + VAT (18%) is collected from companies during Teknopark İzmir applications. 

How do you carry out assessment and acceptance of applications?

Applications are subjected to a preliminary assessment by the Administrator Company. It is examined whether Applicant’s qualities, works he wishes to carry out in the region are in conformity with Laws, Regulations and incorporation purposes of the Region or not.  As the result of the preliminary assessment, Project Assessment Commission is established as per their sectors for applications deemed appropriate.   On a date determined by the Administrator Company, Project Assessment Commission holds meetings with applicants and examines the submitted projects.  Following the meetings, Project Assessment Commission presents its opinion on applications to the Administrator Company. Administrator Company makes the final decision on related application by taking into account opinions of the Commission. Accepted Applicant is invited to sign a contract. 

Who do constitute the Commission Members?

Commission Members consist of specialists in the fields of company’s business line and sofware development projects.  IYTE academicians have priority in appointment of Commission Members. 

How long does it take to assess all applications?

Assessment of applications consists of a period of maximum  thirty days as of delivery date of forms.

What are the tax advantages provided under the Technology Development Zones Law?

Companies allowed to have their operations in the region have tax exemption under the Technology Development Zones  Law.  (i) R&D personnel employed in the region, researcher personnel and software personnel fees are exempted from income tax until 31.12.2023.   (ii) Income generated from R&D and software development activities executed exclusively in the region are exempted from corporate tax (natural entities are exempted from income tax) until 31.12.2023. (İii) During the period in which earnings of entrepreneurs having their operations in the region are exempted from income or corporate tax, all deliveries and services produced in these regions and related to system management, data management, business practices, sectoral, internet, mobile and military command control application software are exempted from value added tax.  

Is it necessary to move company’s head office to the region in order to start having operations in Teknopark İzmir?

It is not mandatory to move company’s head office to the region. R&D and Software offices established may be branches as well.
